Professor in America’s most Muslim city blasts Trump for killing ‘pure soul’ Ayatollah

A Michigan community college professor has blasted President Donald Trump for killing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and has vowed to continue on the Iranian Supreme Leader’s path.

Ali Akbar Shdid teaches engineering at Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, the city with the highest Muslim population in the United States.

He shared a video on his Instagram after US and Israeli joint forces struck Iran on Saturday, condemning the attack and honoring the ‘pure soul’ of the Ayatollah.

Shdid, who alleged Khamenei was a martyred by the ‘Epstein regime,’ accused Trump of making a ‘huge mistake’ by killing Iran’s ‘beloved leader,’ despite Khamenei ordering the killing of a reported 30,000 citizens in recent anti-government protests.

‘He thought that by killing him he’s going to make the believers submit and make them hopeless. However, we’re going to continue on the path of Sayid Ali Khamenei,’ the educator said.

‘We’re going to hold his blood, his ideology. We’re going to learn it and teach it to our children and the grandchildren.’

Shdid further prayed that the Ayatollah be ‘returned back to the Lord as a martyr’ and that he is showered with peace and mercy in ‘paradise’ or heaven.

The engineering instructor’s video, which has been reshared across multiple social media platforms, has since gone viral with many questioning why an instructor at a taxpayer-funded college can publicly profess divisive rhetoric.

Outraged X users, noting how the US government has long regarded Khamenei as the leader of a terrorist network, alleged that Shdid has publicly ‘declared himself an enemy of the USA’.

‘It is absolutely atrocious to have a person apart of a terrorist group working for one of our public school systems,’ one wrote, urging Henry Ford Community College to ‘fire him.’

Another questioned Shdid’s use of the phrase ‘our leader,’ pointing to how the sitting president and congressional legislators are the leaders in the US.

‘If you’re American, Donald Trump is your leader. Your elected Congressmen and Senators are your leaders,’ the user tweeted. ‘If a foreign leader, especially one classified by your govt as a terrorist, is your leader, then you’re not an American.’

‘He’s not ‘our leader’ and the college should know it employs an avid supporter of a mass murderer,’ another echoed.

One user questioned if Shdid’s remarks could be classified as threats or hate speech, and whether such commentary was protected under the first amendment.

‘Is it legal in America to say you are going to “continue on the path” of the world’s leading terror sponsor?’ the poster asked.

Henry Ford College’s social media policy requires ‘respectful, appropriate, and professional interaction across its platforms,’ the institution’s website states.

The school monitors posts and has the right to delete any content that it deems to be ‘offensive, defamatory, or violates policies, including hate speech, profanity, or illegal content.’

The policy, however, notes that individuals affiliated with the school do not represent the ‘official voice’ of Henry Ford College.

‘It is important that College social media representatives maintain accuracy by verifying facts with reliable, reputable sources before posting information on any College social media channel,’ the policy stated.

‘Respect, professionalism, and good judgment are required for all representatives or agents of the College.’

Henry Ford College is a publicly funded institution that receives money from tuition and fees, state and federal grants, and local tax revenue.

It serves around 12,000 students per semester and participates in the Michigan Reconnect program, which provides free tuition to Michigan residents over the age of 25 who do not have a degree.

The college is situated in Dearborn, Michigan, which in 2024 was recognized as the most Muslim city in America.

More than 55 percent of the population of Dearborn claims Middle Eastern ancestry, census data showed.

Dearborn was the first city in the US to have an Arab-American majority.
